Undergraduate Student, Annelise Myers, spent the spring of 2012 interning at The Miner Institute in New York.
ANSC Undergrad, Annelise Myers, describes her research experiences while spending a year in Germany.
December 3, 2012
During her summer internship at Miner Institute Annelise gained experience in dairy management including milking, herd health, calves, and a variety of field work activities such as tillage, planting, and harvest. The students fit and show a string of dairy cattle at the local county fair.
During this internship a student will be involved in an independent study project analyzing an aspect of Miner Institute’s farm management, such as reproduction, nutrition, nutrient management, herd health, and calf management. Each student works with a faculty member to plan, organize, and summarize the project. And, at the end of the summer, present oral and written reports.
