Students graduating with ANSC degrees recognized across the department, college, and university
UMD's Commencement Ceremony was on Thursday, May 22, 2025 at SECU Stadium featuring world-renowned speaker Kermit the Frog delivering the commencement address.
The Spring 2025 graduation celebrations marked the end of a rewarding school year and for some the completion of their academic journey at the University of Maryland. Animal and Avian Sciences graduates were recognized at the department, college, and university levels.
The College of Agriculture and Natural Resources Commencement Ceremony was on Thursday, May 22, 2025 at the Reckord Armory. The University of Maryland’s Commencement Ceremony was also held on May 22, 2025 because of a rain delay on May 21 at the SECU Stadium featuring world-renowned speaker Kermit the Frog delivering the commencement address.
Every year, the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources Alumni Network awards outstanding members of the graduating class. Megan Baranowsky was selected as ANSC’s Outstanding Undergraduate Student. ANSC students Lindsey Do and Megan Liu were awarded Outstanding Service to AGNR Awards, Do for academics and Liu for research.
Additionally, ANSC recognizes departmental leadership and academic achievement of our students. In the Undergraduate Program, the ANSC Outstanding Leadership Awards went to: Lindsey Do, Georgette Kelley, Stephanie Mejia, Shannon Specht, and Autumn Wenstrom. The ANSC Outstanding Academic Achievement Awards went to: Reagan Armstrong, Jimmy Dong, Declan Kehlbeck, Nika Svenson, and Liesl Young. Megan Baranowsky, Ayeesha Fadlaoui, Margaret Hubbard, and Avery Polak were awarded both the ANSC Outstanding Leadership and Outstanding Academic Achievement Awards. In the Graduate Program, the Most Outstanding Ph.D. Student of the Year was awarded to Andrew Brodrick.
