Graduate Student Pay Structure - 2010 Fiscal Year

ALL Graduate Students are given an assistantship in the Animal Sciences Graduate Program. See below for details on the pay structure.

9 Month Graduate Assistantship

Step 1: $15,966 ($725.73 per period)
Step 2: $16,322 ($741.91 per period)
Step 3: $17,366 ($788.00 per period)

Summer - 1/2 Rate (4 Pay Periods)

Step 1: $5,322 ($1,330.50 per period)
Step 2: $5,440 ($1,360.00 per period)
Step 3: $5,779 ($1,444.75 per period)

Summer - Full Rate (4 Pay Periods)

Step 1: $10,644 ($2,661.00 per period)
Step 2: $10,880 ($2,720.00 per period)
Step 3: $11,558 ($2,889.50 per period)

12 Month Graduate Assistantship (1/2 Rate for Summer)

Step 1: $21,288 ($816.53 per period)
Step 2: $21,762 ($834.71 per period)
Step 3: $23,115 ($886.60 per period)

12 Month Graduate Assistantship (Full Rate for Summer)

Step 1: $26,610 ($1,020.66 per period)
Step 2: $27,202 ($1,043.36 per period)
Step 3: $28,894 ($1,108.26 per period)

To calculate a 12-month salary, use the 9-month rate plus the applicable summer rate*. For example, the calculation for a Step 1, 12-month, ½ summer rate for students would be (15,966 + 5,322 = 21,288).

* Please note that there are two summer rates, one for students working ½ time (33.3% of AY) during the summer and one for students working full-time (66.6% of AY).

Available Scholarships

Rummel Scholarship

Awarded to one student with a demonstrated interest in conducting research in Avian Ethology. The recipient of the Rummel Scholarship will complete a research project directed by a faculty member within the ANSC Department. Students interested in applying for this scholarship should also include a proposal for the research project.
